AKA Azen

Currently I'm an 20-year old from the east coast of the United States. I like to go by he/him pronouns, but since I am technically female she/her can be used as well. Whatever you'd like honestly. I'm a native English speaker, and a beginner to intermediate in French. I've been using UTAU for 6 years as of October 8th, 2020.

MY   LIFE

I am in my first semester of college aiming for at least a bachelor's degree in illustration and design (mainly digital art and character design for things such as video games). I do hold commissions, but that's best saved for another site if you're interested. I have generalized anxiety which I struggle with very often and tend to get very stressed over small things, but UTAU is something I turn to in order to relieve it (although sometimes it can make it worse, I still love it). My dream is to voice a vocaloid, as silly as that may seem. I love to sing and produce music despite how sporadic those two activities actually come to fruition.

MY   PROCESS

Regardless of how busy my life tends to be, I have a tradition I like to keep to as part of the UTAU community: I record voicebanks at least twice a year. The winter season is for attempting and experimenting with new recording methods and appends/voice types, while the summer season is reserved for improving on what mistakes I made before and recording those banks again to make them better. How fast they are fully developed and released depends on other factors such as access to otoers for the larger banks, but for the most part this tradition is absolute. I also make it a prime goal of mine to be able to create as many recognizably different UTAUs as I can. Most of the UTAUs I own are voiced by me, with the exception of three out of 10+ that I try to manage. The only ones that will appear on this page are those that are currently being worked on and updated.

MY   EXPERIENCE   SO   FAR

I'm capable of recording/ have recorded CV,VCV, CVVC, VCCV English, and Arpasing. I've recorded a total of 10 pitches for a bank, can create multi-expression banks, voice male and female UTAUs (mature to androgynous, mature to childlike, etc.). I can also configure/oto each type of bank listed here as I'm frequently improving the otos of my banks and learned through trial and error. Most of the time my banks are powerful in tone, something that comes more natural to me than softer ones (although I can do those as well). My voice is better suited for lower soft tones which tend to turn out better than the higher softer pitches (they need more air for me to record and can tend to be loud falsettos instead of calm). I am always practicing my singing abilities in order to branch out the appends and voices I can create for the program.
